Mekdes Abera, PA-C

Mekdes Abera, PA-C, was born and raised in Ethiopia before moving to Texas in 2016. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry with a minor in Neuroscience from The University of Texas at Dallas, graduating with honors, and completed her Master of Physician Assistant Studies at The University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center, also graduating with honors.

 

Through her clinical training, Mekdes developed a strong interest in Internal Medicine, particularly Endocrinology. She is passionate about helping patients manage complex chronic conditions through education, prevention, and individualized care. Her goal is to build meaningful relationships with patients and empower them to take an active role in their health.

 

Outside of work, Mekdes enjoys exploring local coffee shops, spending time in nature, and watching sunsets. She is actively involved in her church community and enjoys traveling, spending time with family and friends, and learning about different cultures. Fluent in both Amharic and English, she is dedicated to providing compassionate, patient-centered care to diverse populations.
